How do I request electronic billing from one of my current payees?

Click Payees at the top of any Bill Pay page.

Step 1: Click the name of the payee.

Step 2: Click Receive this bill online in the eBill Information section of the Payee Details page.

Note: You can also request eBills for payees that offer electronic bills by clicking the Activate eBills link or the Receive this bill online link on other Bill Pay pages. If you do not see either of these links to receive electronic bills from the payee you may need to add the payee again, and select it from our list of payees.

Step 3: Complete the Account Information and Billing Information sections. Refer to your paper bill to make sure any pre-filled information is accurate, and to fill in any missing information.

If your payee requires additional information, we will ask for it in the Payees Help section to the right or below the account number. Be sure to read these instructions carefully and supply all information requested.

Step 4: For certain eBillers, you must accept the terms and conditions before you can receive your bills electronically. Read the eBiller’s terms and conditions and indicate you accept them.

Step 5: Verify that all information is correct and click Continue. For Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Wells Fargo Credit Card, Wells Fargo Line of Credit, Wells Fargo Installment Loans, and Wells Fargo Education Financial Services payees, if the account number matches one of the qualifying formats and the account is eligible for eBills, the payee will be added, activation will be confirmed on-screen, and the "Receiving eBills" status will display. For all other payees, if your account number matches one of the qualifying formats, the payee will be sent the request to send your bills electronically. "Pending activation" will show as the status for the payee until the activation has been confirmed.

If the account number does not match one of the qualifying formats, you will be prompted to re-enter it. Please enter the account number exactly as it appears on your bill.

If we are unable to verify your account number, you will not be able to receive your bill electronically. However, you can still continue to make payments to this payee.

Step 7: Change your payment option if you wish, and click Save when you are done.

Important Information: For Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Wells Fargo Credit Card, Wells Fargo Line of Credit, Wells Fargo Installment Loans, and Wells Fargo Education Financial Services payees, you will receive an immediate on-screen confirmation when the eBill activation is successful. For all other payees, please continue to pay any bills that come in the mail until you are notified that the eBills are active. We will notify you when your electronic bill activation is successful. (Please allow up to 10 days.) If we encounter any problems setting up an electronic bill with your payee, we will notify you. If you have questions about why your eBill activation was unsuccessful, please contact your payee.

Remember, you can also request electronic billing from other pages. Click the Activate eBills link from the Overview, Payees, or eBills pages or click the Receive this bill online link from the Payee Details page to request electronic billing from your payees that offer electronic bills.
